People of sorts with one common goal in mind.We are the new faces of the enterprising world. We strive to help the society and meanwhile, have a whale of time at that. Our non profitable organisation is The Tent, which is a home that shelters abused girls. A merge between us and The Tent has come up with a proposal that will benefit them greatly and is also society-friendly.Being new in this world of business, we greatly appreciate any support we can get. <br /> <br />ouR ideA <br />We are teaching the girls in the home how to plan and cook a healthy meal. With this skill they will be able to set up a small catering company, which caters to homebound elderly and children with working mothers.Objectives of the Social EnterpriseThis social enterprise aims to: <br />1. Equip the girls with basic knowledge on meal planning and healthy diet. <br />2. Allow them to be self-reliant. <br />3. Let them learn more social skills. <br />4. Instill responsibility and leadership skills in them. <br />5. Develop interest towards food and nutrition. <br /> <br />There will be a contractual period for the catering service. Each contract will last for 2 months. The girls will decide the daily menu and they will be train to work within their budget and are also given the freedom to cook something everyday. We are also able to cater to the needs of healthy individuals by fulfilling their daily nutrient requirements. All the recipes will be specially modified into healthier choices by reducing fat content, increase non-starch polysaccharides (dietary fibre), substitution of ingredients and repackaging the food so as to improve on visual appeal. <br /> <br />Marketing and Operational Plan <br />1. Target market: Households comprising of children, adults and elderly. <br />2. Growth potential: Food is essential in our daily lives. Hence there will be a demand for it. Furthermore, the number of working parents in society is increasing; therefore we can cater home cooked food to their children or elderly in the family. The aging population is also increasing in Singapore, hence our catering service will be able to cater to home bound elderly. <br />3. Why should they buy from us: We are able to provide healthy home cooked food to our customers and send it to their doorstep. Our customers are also doing a good deed by patronizing them as the money collected is for charitable usage. The service will be priced at $2.50 per head. <br />4. How to promote our catering service: There is an increasing importance in using the internet, hence promoting online will be very effective. Therefore, we will promote our catering service through online diaries (blogspot), web community (friendster and hi5!), msn, emails and flyers. Customers can also order their food through phone and msn messenger. <br />5. How to deliver the food: We will start a catering company, which caters home cooked food to families. This business will start off small but it will venture out slowly. First of all, they would take orders from families staying near their area and deliver the food on foot. The girls can start catering to their friends’ families. Expansion of their service to the nearer neighbourhoods will be undertaken when the business is generating a healthy profit margin. <br />6. Future service developments: With enough capital, the girls are able to get their own mini van. The mini van will be driven by the caretaker and this will help them expand their business as they are able to provide their service to families staying further away. They are also able to cater to special functions in churches, community club and schools with the experience they have gained. <br /> <br />How does all this benefit us? Well we are after all angels in disguise and extremely interested in tHE welfare of the community especially those that are at a disadvantage.
